Summary
Reynardo is a Tonawawta (Turali Hyur) of small stature but larger-than-life personality. He has some talent in a number of fields and disciplines, but is especially good with numbers. Currently he resides in the small Lower Coerthan town of Bellevaux. He's best known for helping poorer Ishgardians rebuild their homes destroyed by the Dragonsong War (and/or the Calamity) at very low cost.
A Turali In Eorzea
Reynardo has lived in Eorzea for many years now. Now that Eorzeans know more about "the New World," though, he's talking a little more openly about where he's from.Travelling Light
Rey loves to visit new places. He's been all across Tural and Eorzea and has spent time in Thavnair. He's never been to Old Sharlayan or the Far East.Gainful Employment
It's unclear how Rey manages to keep up his lifestyle. He only takes up odd jobs here and there, rather than holding down a permanent position. Maybe he's looking for a project he can sink his teeth into. And Hell Follows Him
Everywhere Rey goes, death seems to arrive as well. Maybe he just has that kind of luck.El Chato
Rey is unusually short even for a Midlander. Yet this helps him stand out. Maybe someone takes notice.

Born and raised in Yok Tural, Reynardo discovered a love for travelling and embracing new experiences at an early age. Never content to stick to just one job, he learned many different skills growing up, allowing him to work just about anywhere he went.At some point, Rey stowed away on a merchant ship headed toward Eorzea. He spent time in Limsa Lominsa before sailing (officially this time) to Ul'dah, then making his way to Gridania before settling in Ishgard. He arrived in time to help the Holy See and the dragons rebuild at the end of their war, but still faced some discrimination due to being an outsider. And that's the party line.
About the Writer
Hi! I'm alecto. I'm a longtime writer and RPer.
I love blending my own RL cultures into FFXIV lore.
Among other projects, I run an annual Mardi Gras celebration.
I'm 30+ and live in the Central time zone in the US.
The major thing to know about me is that consent is important to me.I check in regardless of "breaking immersion" or "ruining the vibe."
If you'd rather not write with someone who will pause RP for this, that's alright.I kindly ask that you respect the following guidelines for RPing with me:
Keep IC and OOC separate. I am not my character, and he is not me. Don't use IC to solve OOC problems, or vice versa.
Communicate. I try my best to read people's needs and intentions, but I'm not perfect. Just talk freely.
Respect consent. Everyone, including me and including you, should be able to consent or decline anything, and at any time.
Black lives matter, and trans rights are human rights. I don't RP with bigots.

Abilities:
Enhanced attributes. Rey is slightly stronger and more durable than the average Midlander. His senses are a little sharper as well.
Mist teleport. While Rey can use the Aethernet system, he can also teleport directly to places he's already been (usually) through a vampiric mist. He tries not to use this since the spooky fog and bats are a bit obvious.
Retractable fangs and claws. His canines and fingernails are typically long, but he can extend them further to use as weapons that can puncture and slash viciously.
Shadow walking. Rey is naturally adept at cloaking himself amongst shadows.
Longevity and rapid healing. Rey can be killed by extraordinary means, such as beheading or impalement, but lesser wounds will heal over time, and Rey will not die of natural causes such as illness or old age.Weaknesses:
Sunlight. While being in the sun will not kill Rey, it does render his abilities nigh unusable.
Holy magicks. Spells cast with holy magicks are particularly damaging to Rey given his vampiric impurity.
Mirrors. Rey doesn't actually have a reflection. He can cast small spells that make it appear otherwise, but he might not always remember to. It's not like he bothers to do this in his house, for instance.
Dependent on Spoken blood. While Rey can use temporary workarounds such as drinking animal blood or sipping from a willing donor, his curse requires him to drain a Spoken body of its blood at regular intervals, otherwise he will perish.
No true soul present. Rey still has a soul; it's part of what animates him even in unlife. But his soul already belongs to the Lifestream, and it resides there. He can no longer enjoy things like the taste of food or warmth on his skin.
